12 NEW Power Tools from the MASSIVE JLC LIVE EXPO!

JLC LIVE is one of the biggest annual events for contractors, remodelers, builders, and tool fans. This year, Rob and Sarah traveled to Providence, Rhode Island, to explore the show floor.

We found new tools and jobsite solutions from DEWALT, Milwaukee, FLEX, Bosch, Graco, Mafell, MAX USA, and several other brands.

JLC LIVE offers more than standard product displays. Brands demonstrate their tools in real materials and explain the features directly to working tradespeople. The event also gives contractors a chance to ask practical questions about performance, pricing, and availability.

DeWalt 20V MAX XR 18Ga Brad Nailer

DEWALT introduced the upcoming Brad Nailer (DW-DCN210B) at JLC LIVE.

The new nailer has a smaller body than the current DEWALT model. Its compact size should help users work inside cabinets, corners, and other tight areas. Its shape also brings it closer to the size of a pneumatic nailer.

DEWALT improved the tool-free depth adjustment as well. Users can reach it more easily, and the setting stays firmly in place. Small reference notches on the nose also help users position each fastener.

A dedicated LED warns the user when the magazine runs low or runs out of nails. This feature helps prevent dry firing and possible damage to the work surface.

The DW-DCN210B can fire up to five nails per second. DEWALT expects to price the bare tool at about $349.

WUKO Akku Lok’n’Bak 0411

The WUKO Akku Lok’n’Bak 0411 stood out as one of the most specialized tools at the show.

This system helps sheet metal professionals create single-lock and double-lock seams. A standard 18V drill powers the tool as it travels along the metal panel.

The tool completes a clean and consistent fold across the seam. Once it reaches the end, the user can reverse the drill and guide it back to the starting point. This saves the operator from carrying it back across the roof.

WUKO manufactures the system in Austria with stainless-steel components and polyurethane wheels. The professional system costs about $4,900.

That price may seem high, but the tool can reduce the time and physical effort required for repetitive architectural sheet metal work.

Bosch StarlockMax Oscillating Multi-Tool

Bosch displayed a new StarlockMax oscillating multi-tool (GOP12V-28N) with smarter controls and improved comfort.

The adaptive speed control starts the blade at a low speed. It then increases the speed as the user applies more pressure. This gives the operator more control at the beginning of a cut.

Bosch also added a Stop Cut feature. During a drywall plunge cut, the tool senses when the blade breaks through the material. It then stops the motor.

This feature may help prevent the blade from traveling too far. It can also reduce the risk of contacting pipes, wires, or finished surfaces behind the drywall.

Bosch reduced the grip size and vibration. The new model also operates more quietly than previous versions.

Boss Hammer Co. Boss Paw

The Boss Paw packs several functions into a compact nine-inch pry bar.

It includes four pulling points for handling different fasteners. The pointed pick can reach beneath a nail, while the teardrop opening offers another pulling position.

The tool also includes a side puller and a reinforced shoe. Users can drive the shoe beneath stubborn fasteners before pulling them free.

Boss Hammer Co. added a 13mm six-point wrench and a magnetic nail starter. The magnetic holder helps users position a nail inside a wall cavity or another difficult area.

The Boss Paw costs about $34.95. It could become a useful addition to a carpenter’s tool belt.

ZipWall ZipDoor Magnetic

Temporary dust barriers help keep remodeling and restoration projects cleaner. However, standard zippered entrances can slow workers down.

The ZipWall ZipDoor Magnetic replaces the zipper with a self-closing magnetic entrance. Workers can walk through while carrying tools or materials. The magnetic panels then close behind them.

ZipWall makes the reusable door from nylon. A double-sided tape system secures it to the opening.

One side of the tape uses a clean-release adhesive for painted or finished surfaces. ZipWall says users can leave it in place for up to 21 days. The other side uses a stronger adhesive to hold the panel.

The kit includes enough tape for several installations. Users can purchase additional rolls for future projects.

The ZipDoor Magnetic costs just over $100. Its reusable design may quickly pay for itself on jobs that require frequent dust containment.

TerraGrip Spinnaker Foundation System

The TerraGrip Spinnaker offers an alternative to traditional concrete foundations for certain projects.

The system uses several specialized rods that extend into the ground through a base plate. TerraGrip can adjust the rod length to match the soil and required load capacity.

The rods can measure between six and 30 feet long. A worker drives them into the soil with a high-torque impact tool and a specialized socket.

Each project requires engineering. TerraGrip uses a geotechnical report and structural drawings to choose the correct plate and rod configuration.

The company compares the design to a tree root system. The rods spread loads through the soil without a large excavation or poured concrete footing.

This approach may reduce installation time and limit disruption around the project site.

Mafell K 105-18 Cordless Beam Saw

The Mafell K 105-18 was one of the largest and most impressive saws at JLC LIVE.

This cordless beam saw uses an 11-inch blade and cuts up to four inches deep. Two 18V batteries power the tool.

The saw includes variable speed control, simple depth adjustments, and a retractable riving knife. A Bowden cable controls the blade guard.

Mafell also designed the saw to work with a crosscut guide track. This combines the cutting capacity of a beam saw with the control of a track saw.

The K 105-18 can plunge and bevel up to 60 degrees. Mafell expected the bare tool to cost between $2,125 and $2,200.

MAX USA 500 PSI PowerLite System

MAX USA demonstrated its 500 PSI PowerLite fastening system at the show.

The system includes the High-Pressure Air Compressor (MAX-AKHL1320E) and high-pressure Nailer (MAX-HN40SP1). The compressor has two standard 100 PSI outlets and two high-pressure outlets.

MAX uses a turbine system instead of a standard piston design. This allows the compressor to run quietly with less vibration.

The compressor also features a brushless, oil-free design. An AC inverter helps it operate with inconsistent jobsite power.

The HN120 handles demanding fastening work in concrete and steel. During the demonstration, it drove engineered lumber directly into a steel plate.

MAX designed the nailer as an alternative to powder-actuated tools, gas-powered systems, and some drilling applications.

The tool also requires less pressure to actuate. That makes it easier to use overhead or against a vertical steel surface.

MAX says the nailer can complete between 100,000 and 200,000 shots before it needs service.

Milwaukee AX Nitrus Carbide Saw Blade

Milwaukee tested its new AX Nitrus Carbide reciprocating saw blade (48-00-7251) against a competing carbide blade.

The test used two matching saws and two FORGE 6.0Ah batteries. A weighted setup applied the same pressure to both blades.

Each blade first cut through screws. The blades then continued into wood.

Milwaukee used the test to compare cutting speed and carbide tooth condition. The AX blade completed the cut faster during the demonstration.

Its teeth also appeared to retain more usable carbide after the cut.

Milwaukee designed the blade for nail-embedded wood, demolition, and remodeling work. It should suit jobs where a standard wood blade may hit screws or nails.

FLEX 24V Cordless Nailer Lineup

FLEX brought a large lineup of 24V cordless nailers to JLC LIVE.

The collection includes 21-degree (FLEX-FX4351A-Z) and 30-degree framing nailers (FLEX-FX4351B-Z). It also includes 15-gauge, 16-gauge, 18-gauge, and 23-gauge finish tools.

FLEX also offers a narrow crown stapler and a utility stapler. Contractors can use the utility stapler for tasks such as installing vinyl corner bead.

The nailers use a pressurized air-spring cylinder system. This design supports fast bump firing at up to three nails per second.

FLEX also highlighted the runtime of its 24V battery platform.

During the demonstration, the framing nailer fired in both single-fire and bump-fire modes. The brad nailer also drove fasteners through stacked pine and oak.

Users can adjust the depth to control how far the fastener sits below the surface. This can reduce the amount of filler needed during finish work.

Graco 490 XT Sprayer and PowerShot XT Spray Gun

Graco introduced a professional airless painting system built around the 490 XT sprayer and PowerShot XT gun.

The 490 XT uses a slower and quieter motor. The motor also helps the sprayer maintain steadier pressure at lower settings.

More consistent pressure can create a more even spray pattern. It can also help improve the final finish.

The PowerShot XT uses an electric trigger instead of a traditional mechanical system.

A standard spray gun may continue releasing a small amount of paint after the user releases the trigger. Painters often call this effect “spit.”

Graco says the PowerShot XT shuts off up to 20 times faster. This helps reduce unwanted paint at the end of each pass.

A DEWALT battery powers the gun. When users pair it with an XT sprayer, they can adjust the pressure from the battery-mounted control.

This feature saves time when the operator works on a ladder or far from the pump.

The 490 XT stand-mounted sprayer costs about $2,500. The PowerShot XT setup costs roughly $850.

CutHub Portable Jobsite Cutting Station

The CutHub turns a jobsite into a more organized cutting workspace.

The system can combine a table saw station, miter saw station, outfeed support, and material platforms. It also includes an integrated measuring stop.

Although the complete station looks complicated, the components fold and telescope for transport. Users can separate the tables and store them inside a trailer or compatible job boxes.

Each main table weighs about 40 to 45 pounds.

During the demonstration, the CutHub team rebuilt the table saw and miter saw stations in only a few minutes.

The system also adjusts for different miter saw heights. Adjustable legs help users level the station on uneven ground.

CutHub helps each customer choose a setup based on crew size, tools, transportation, and project needs. This approach keeps contractors from buying more equipment than they will actually use.

MagnoGrip 20-Pocket Builder’s Tool Rig

MagnoGrip also joined the Tool Show as a new sponsor.

The company highlighted its 20-Pocket Builder’s Tool Rig. The rig uses magnetic strips to hold nails, screws, and small tools.

It also includes a large foam-lined pocket, breathable padding, a hammer holder, and a tape measure clip.

MagnoGrip makes the rig from heavy-duty 1680-denier ballistic polyester. Rivets reinforce the main stress points.

At about $79, the rig combines magnetic storage, comfort, and jobsite durability.

What the New Tools at JLC LIVE Tell Us

This year’s show highlighted several important tool industry trends.

Cordless nailers continue to get smaller and faster. Smart electronics now give users more control during cutting and spraying.

Manufacturers also continue to focus on setup time. Products such as the CutHub, ZipDoor Magnetic, and WUKO seam closer help crews work more efficiently.

Even familiar products continue to evolve. Brands have redesigned pry bars, saw blades, spray guns, and dust barriers to solve common jobsite frustrations.

The products at JLC LIVE showed more than new technology. They showed how brands listen to contractors and improve the tools they use every day.
