10 NEW Tools and Tech from The IBS Tool and Building Expo!

The 2026 International Builders’ Show brought the latest tools, building products, workwear, and jobsite technology to Orlando, Florida. We explored the show floor to find products that could change how contractors and builders work.

They found new nailers, screws, safety equipment, storage accessories, and painting tools. They also discovered prototype work pants, a compact armadillo-inspired home, and real tree bark wall coverings.

Paslode Cordless Siding and Fencing Nailer

Paslode showed off a cordless coil nailer for siding, fencing, and repair work. The tool uses a battery and fuel cell, so contractors do not need an air compressor or hose.

The nailer works with materials such as LP SmartSide, Hardie siding, and fence pickets. It also includes a no-mar tip that helps protect finished surfaces.

Users can adjust the depth of drive at the nose of the tool. This lets them set nails flush or leave them slightly raised.

The coil magazine holds more fasteners than a standard stick magazine. Paslode also offers fuel-and-nail packs, which make it easier to buy compatible supplies together.

According to the demonstration, the battery can drive about 4,000 nails per charge. That makes this tool a strong option for siding repairs, fence installation, and punch-list work.

VOSKER Off-Grid Jobsite Security Camera

Many jobsites do not have reliable power or Wi-Fi. VOSKER designed its VKX 300 camera for those locations.

The camera uses a solar panel, rechargeable battery, and cellular connection. It can protect jobsites, equipment yards, and material storage areas without a wired power source.

A motion detector activates the camera when it notices activity. The system can then send a photo or short video to the user.

Built-in artificial intelligence can identify people, cars, trucks, and animals. Contractors can choose which types of movement should trigger an alert. This helps reduce unnecessary notifications.

The camera also includes GPS tracking. Users can secure it with a metal lock box and mounting hardware.

Because the system is portable, contractors can move it as a project changes. It can also monitor renovation sites, marinas, remote properties, and delivered materials.

EVOZOME Armadillo Home

One of the most unusual products at IBS 2026 was the EVOZOME Armadillo home.

The design takes inspiration from an armadillo’s protective shell. Overlapping exterior panels create a curved building envelope that looks very different from traditional construction.

EVOZOME uses biomimicry as a key part of the design. Biomimicry uses shapes and systems from nature to solve human design problems.

Adjustable steel pylons lift the structure above the ground. This approach reduces the building’s footprint on the surrounding property.

The design may work well on hillsides, forest properties, glamping resorts, and other challenging locations.

The structure offers about 355 square feet of living space. It can accommodate two to four people.

Large glass surfaces connect the interior with the landscape. The rounded shape also helps the building retain heat.

The model at IBS 2026 marked the first EVOZOME Armadillo built in the United States.

U2 Fasteners Construction Screws

U2 Fasteners introduced several updates to its wood-to-wood structural screws.

The company changed the drive recess to help the screw stay attached to the bit. This design lets users start the fastener with one hand.

Many screws use a tapered recess. The screw can fall away from the bit before the user starts driving it. U2 Fasteners uses a 90-degree recess to create a more secure connection.

The company also redesigned the screw tip. It moved the cutting feature one full thread higher and added an angled edge.

This change allows the first thread to bite into wood faster. The screw spends less time spinning before it starts to drive.

U2 Fasteners also offers coatings for demanding ground-contact applications. Contractors can also choose 316-grade stainless steel options.

These small changes can save time during large framing, decking, and structural fastening projects.

Blåkläder Prototype Work Pants with a Tool Rail System

Blåkläder gave visitors an early look at prototype work pants with a modular waist rail.

The rail wraps around the waist and holds removable tool pouches. Workers can slide each pouch to a different position while they work.

They can also remove one pouch and replace it with another. This allows tradespeople to customize the pants for different jobs.

For example, a carpenter may use one pouch for fasteners and another for hand tools. An electrician could choose a completely different setup.

Blåkläder says the rail system can support about 30 pounds. That gives workers enough capacity for tools, fasteners, and small equipment.

The company has not announced a confirmed United States release date. However, the prototype shows how modular storage could become part of future workwear.

Stack Smarter Crate Organizers

Open tool crates offer fast access, but they can become cluttered quickly. Stack Smarter designed fitted organizers to solve that problem.

The organizers keep tools, spray cans, caulk tubes, and accessories in place. They also stop supplies from moving around during transportation.

Stack Smarter makes the organizers from injection-molded HDPE. Manufacturers also use this durable plastic for industrial bins and cutting boards.

The material resists chemicals and everyday jobsite wear. It also offers more durability than many lightweight 3D-printed accessories.

Customers can choose layouts for spray cans, caulk tubes, drywall tools, and painting supplies. Stack Smarter also offers blank organizers for custom layouts.

The company supports several modular storage platforms. These include Milwaukee PACKOUT, FLEX Stack Pack, Klein MODbox, ToughBuilt StackTech, RIDGID Pro Gear, Makita MAKTRAK, DEWALT TOUGHSYSTEM, and Festool Systainer.

These organizers help contractors improve the storage systems they already own.

SawStop Live Hot Dog Safety Demonstration

SawStop performed its famous hot dog demonstration during the show.

The safety system sends a small electrical signal through the saw blade. When conductive material touches the blade, the system activates a spring-powered brake.

The brake stops the blade in about five milliseconds. It then pulls the blade below the table.

During the demonstration, the presenter quickly pushed a hot dog into the spinning blade. The safety system activated and left only minor damage.

The saw also runs a diagnostic every time the user turns it on. This check confirms that the safety system works correctly.

When the saw detects a problem, it prevents normal operation. This reduces the chance of someone using the tool without an active safety system.

SawStop technology does not replace safe work habits. Users still need blade guards, push sticks, proper setup, and careful material control.

However, the system adds another layer of protection against serious table saw injuries.

Plywood Gator Sheet-Good Cutting Clamp

The Plywood Gator solves a common problem when cutting plywood and other sheet materials.

As a circular saw reaches the end of a cut, the unsupported section can bend or fall. It may also pinch the blade and cause kickback.

The Plywood Gator clamps across the cut. It keeps both sides of the sheet aligned and supported.

To use it, the operator starts the cut and moves the saw several inches into the material. The operator then attaches the clamp behind the saw.

After that, the user can finish the cut without letting the offcut drop. The free hand can also help guide and support the material.

The clamp works with sheet goods from about 1/4 inch to 1 inch thick.

The design is simple, but it solves a problem that many contractors and woodworkers face every day.

BarkClad Natural and Artificial Bark Wall Coverings

BarkClad offers wall coverings made from real tree bark.

The company harvests natural poplar bark and dries it in a kiln. It can then install the bark on walls, gable ends, and building exteriors.

BarkClad also makes an artificial version called SmartBark. The company molds closed-cell polyurethane from real bark to copy its natural texture.

Builders can use either option for cabins, garages, homes, commercial spaces, and accent walls.

The kiln-drying process removes moisture and living material from the natural bark. This helps protect it from insects and decay.

The finished bark requires very little maintenance. Property owners may only need to remove dust or occasional spiderwebs.

BarkClad gives builders a unique alternative to standard siding, wood panels, and decorative wall products.

Limited-Edition Stiletto TiBone Hammers

Stiletto displayed limited-edition versions of its TiBone 15-ounce titanium hammer.

The new models feature Cerakote finishes in black, green, and gold. Cerakote adds a durable protective layer and gives each hammer a distinctive appearance.

Customers can choose a casting color and pair it with a different grip color. This allows users to create their own combination.

Stiletto also sells replacement grips separately. Buyers can change the look of the hammer without replacing the entire tool.

The full blackout version has become one of the most popular combinations. The gold model offers a much bolder option for the jobsite.

These hammers combine the lightweight performance of titanium with limited-edition styling.

A Paint Tray That Recovers Nearly Every Drop

Vinyl Trends demonstrated one of the simplest and smartest products at the show.

The company created a paint tray that holds a paint can at an angle. At the start of a job, painters can attach the can and let the paint drain into the tray.

At the end of the day, they can reverse the can. The remaining paint then flows back into the container.

This design helps painters recover more material. It can also reduce waste and improve profit margins.

Vinyl Trends also showed a reusable roller storage box. The container wraps around a roller while it remains on the frame.

The box helps keep the roller wet between work sessions. Small markers can also identify different paints or work areas.

For example, a painter could label one roller for trim and another for the ceiling.

Neither product had secured full distribution at the time of the show. However, both products could simplify common painting tasks.
