NEW Power Tools Announced from Milwaukee, Festool, RYOBI, Kreg, and more!

If you’re a fan of new tool tech, this week’s roundup has a little bit of everything, cordless planers, drain augers, snowblowers, modular storage, portable power, and even some unexpected jobsite comfort gear. Milwaukee, Festool, RYOBI, and Kreg all dropped major announcements, and we’ve got the highlights you don’t want to miss.

Festool Cuts the Cord: HLC 82 Cordless Planer

Festool officially entered the cordless planer market with the HLC 82, running on their 18V battery platform. This tool features an 82mm width with a spiral blade cutter that makes pulling cuts for a cleaner, quieter finish.

In terms of performance, you get 0 – 2.5mm of depth control, 25mm rebate capacity, and a high-speed 11,500 RPM brushless EC-TEC motor. Additionally, Festool included a quick-stop brake that halts the cutter in under two seconds. To keep the worksite flexible, the planer offers dual chip ejection ports, three V-grooves for fast chamfers, and weighs just 6 lbs bare.

For best runtime, Festool recommends pairing it with their 5.0Ah or 8.0Ah High Power packs. The rollout starts in October 2025 across Europe, with U.S. pricing details expected later.

RYOBI Drain Augers and Snowblowers

RYOBI had a busy week with two major categories getting attention.

RYOBI 35ft Drain Auger (PCL457B)

Perfect for clearing clogs in toilets, floor drains, and stacks up to 3″, this new auger packs a lot of features:

  • Auto/manual feed with cable lock
  • 35ft enclosed drum (optional 25ft drum for smaller drains)
  • Onboard LED lighting
  • RYOBI LINK storage compatibility

New RYOBI HP Brushless Snowblowers

Meanwhile, RYOBI is also preparing homeowners for winter with three new snowblowers:

  • 40V HP 21″ single-stage: Clears up to 35ft, rated stronger than 208cc gas. $799 kit with dual 8.0Ah batteries.
  • 40V HP 18″ single-stage: Compact, clears up to 25ft. $599 kit with 8.0Ah battery.
  • 18V One+ HP Brushless 18″ single-stage: Uses dual 18V batteries, rated for up to 20 car spaces cleared. $529 kit with two 6.0Ah batteries.

Milwaukee vs. RYOBI Snowblowers

Here’s where things get interesting: RYOBI’s flagship snowblower competes directly with Milwaukee’s new 21″ model (3036-22HD). Both offer similar clearing widths, throw distances, and dual-battery designs. However, Milwaukee’s kit runs $1,499 almost double RYOBI’s $799.

The higher price isn’t just branding. Milwaukee engineered its version for professionals, with reinforced augers, a rust-resistant dual-coated frame, and peak power tuned for heavy, wet snow. By contrast, RYOBI is targeting homeowners who want solid performance and longer runtime at a lower cost. Therefore, the choice comes down to whether you need a pro-grade snowblower or a budget-friendly option for occasional use.

Kreg Expands Into Power Tools

Kreg, best known for pocket-hole jigs, is shaking things up by announcing a 20V Ionic Drive cordless platform with 23 tools arriving in October 2025.

The standout so far is the Rebel 20V Ionic Drive Pocket-Hole Joiner, which is the first cordless all-in-one drill + jig system. It allows users to drill and join in one smooth step, no separate drill required.

Additionally, it features tool-free micro adjustments, built-in chip collection with a vacuum adapter, and a durable cast-metal frame with a folding handle. While rugged enough for the jobsite, it remains compact enough for shop storage.

Pricing starts at $299 bare tool, with kits and even a corded option expected. This move signals Kreg’s transition from woodworking jigs into a broader power tool ecosystem, leaving many to wonder whether they’ll cater more to DIYers or professionals.

Milwaukee Expands M18 Top-Off Line

Milwaukee also introduced an upgrade to its M18 Top-Off Charger and Power Supply (2847-20), arriving in August 2025.

This version focuses on fast USB-C charging and adds the ability to recharge M18 batteries, something the previous model couldn’t do.

Key highlights include:

  • Dual USB-C ports (100W bidirectional + 15W)
  • Simultaneous laptop, tablet, light, and M18 battery charging
  • 65% smaller than traditional chargers
  • Preorder now at Ohio Power Tool for $99

Compared to the original Top-Off, which had AC and USB-A outputs, the new release prioritizes speed and efficiency, perfect for pros who want portable charging solutions on the go.

Beyond Tools: FlexiSpot Standing Desk & Treadmill

Not every new product this week was a power tool, but comfort matters on and off the jobsite. FlexiSpot introduced the E7 Plus Standing Desk, capable of holding up to 540 lbs, and a Walking Treadmill with incline and Bluetooth functionality.

Unlike most two-leg models, the E7 Plus features a four-leg frame for unmatched stability and extends to over 51″, making it perfect for pairing with the treadmill. With a 15-year warranty and lower cost than many competitors, this desk-and-treadmill combo is geared toward long-lasting productivity and health.
