11 NEW Power Tools Announced from Milwaukee, DeWALT, Makita, Kreg, and more!
The tool industry is heating up again with fresh announcements across the board. This week’s lineup covers everything from cordless nailers and grinders to PACKOUT-integrated mechanic’s sets, modular socket storage, and even DIY HVAC solutions. Let’s break down the 11 new tools and innovations making waves right now.
Makita Expands the 18V LXT Lineup
Makita has introduced two cordless fastening solutions in their trusted 18V LXT platform.
First, the 18V LXT Brushless ¼” Narrow Crown Stapler (XTS02Z) is built for precision fastening, driving 18-gauge staples from ⅜” to 1½”. With tool-less depth adjustment, bump or sequential fire modes, anti-dry fire protection, and a slim nose, it is clearly designed for trim and furniture applications. Even better, Makita claims up to 4,500 staples per charge with a 5.0Ah battery.
Meanwhile, the 18V LXT Brushless 2” Brad Nailer (XNB04Z) delivers consistent performance for 18-gauge brads from ⅝” to 2″. It features a 110-nail magazine, tool-less depth adjustment, sequential/bump fire, and a lightweight build (6.1 lbs. with battery). On a 5.0Ah pack, users can expect around 4,250 nails per charge.
Both models are available for pre-order, with the stapler priced at $399 bare tool and the brad nailer at $369 bare tool.
Klein Tools: ModBox-Ready Socket Sets
Klein continues to expand its Connect system with deep well socket sets that integrate neatly into ModBox storage.
- The 23-Piece Deep Well ⅜” Drive Set (KLN-65121IMPCT) offers both standard and metric sizes up to 19mm, plus an impact adapter. ($99.98)
- A 9-Piece Deep Well Set (KLN-65109IMPCT) includes an extension and a hex-to-square adapter for more compact tasks. ($49.98)
Because these sets are modular, they’re perfect for tradespeople who already rely on Klein’s ModBox system and want to streamline their storage.
Kreg Steps into Circular Saws
Kreg is pushing further into power tools with two new 20V Ionic platform circular saws.
The 7-¼” Circular Saw is track-ready, ships with a 40-tooth SureCut blade, and cuts up to 2-7/16″ at 90°. It can bevel to 57° and spins at 4,200 RPM, making it ideal for carpentry and cabinetry.
On the other hand, the 4-½” Compact Circular Saw is lightweight but powerful, featuring a brushless motor, LED light, soft start, electronic brake, and an auxiliary front handle. It delivers up to 1-11/16″ cuts at 90° while running at 5,000 RPM.
Both saws are expected to hit the market soon, with bare tool prices of $169.99 and $149.99, respectively.
DeWalt Atomic Grinders & Die Grinders
DeWalt is broadening its ATOMIC 20V MAX lineup with a complete small grinder range. This includes:
- DCG400 – 4” cordless angle grinder (a first for DeWalt).
- DCG402 – 4½” angle grinder with a slim grip.
- DCG420 – Straight die grinder with variable speed up to 24,500 RPM.
- DCG422 – Right-angle die grinder.
According to DeWalt, the 4” model delivers 44% more power than 7HP pneumatics, while the die grinders bring electronic brakes and anti-rotation systems for safety. Although pricing hasn’t been confirmed yet, the lineup will be available later this fall.
Milwaukee PACKOUT Mechanics Tool Sets
After more than a year of anticipation, Milwaukee’s PACKOUT-integrated mechanic’s hand tool sets are finally shipping.
Tradespeople will be able to buy individual trays, like screwdriver, plier, hex key, or ratcheting wrench sets, for $199–$320 each. Larger pre-loaded four-drawer PACKOUT boxes will cost between $1,150 – $1,600, (48-22-9493) (48-22-9492) (48-22-9491) while the massive 366-piece Master Mechanics Set with dolly (48-22-9495) comes in at $3,999.
Although these kits are premium-priced, they are positioned against competitors such as GEARWRENCH MegaMods, offering modularity, mobility, and PACKOUT compatibility that Snap-On and others can’t match.
Mr. Cool DIY Mini-Split: Comfort for the Garage Shop
The episode’s sponsor, Mr. Cool, introduced their DIY ductless mini-splits, which provide an easy way to add climate control to shops or garages. Thanks to pre-charged lines and quick-connect fittings, installation requires no HVAC technician. Despite being DIY, the units still carry a 7-year compressor and 5-year parts warranty, making them a cost-effective option for workshop upgrades.
Other Tool Highlights Across the Industry
This week also delivered a variety of tool tests and launches across different channels:
- EGO Leaf Vacuum (currently Europe-only, but highly anticipated).
- Klein Carabiners with Socket Holders, offering quirky but functional portability.
- Klein Mini ModBox Prolex Ratchet Bit Set, small yet practical.
- Digital Torque Wrenches from Icon, Snap-On, Proto, and Carlyle.
- Makita 40V XGT Die Grinders, tested against older LXT models.
- DeWalt DCD801 & DCD806 XR Drill Drivers, reviewed for performance upgrades.
- Milwaukee M12 Subcompact 3/8” Impact Wrench, torque-tested against Snap-On’s CT861.
These highlights show just how diverse the current wave of tool releases really is.
