RIDGID announces a tool they say can do ANYTHING. Is it true?
Ridgid has just announced a new press tool that works on any size and material pipe. Seriously. And today we’re going to dig into this new game-changer.
This is the Ridgid RP 342-XL Press Tool, the first to work on any size material pipe. From ½” Pex and Copper, to 4” Carbon Steel, they say it can press it all. That includes 2” PureFlow, 4” ProPress, and 4” MegaPress. Getting all of those attachments into tough spots is easy thanks to the 270-degree swivel.

But versatility isn’t the only strong point here. This thing is fast. It presses up to 4” carbon steel in a single 10-second trigger pull, all thanks to a powerful hydraulic Ram output of 7200 lbs.

The tool is powered by a new 18V Lithium-Ion battery claiming to have a 20% increased power efficiency over their old batteries.

With this much power, portability, and versatility, Ridgid thinks they have 1 tool for every job. Are they right? If you work with pipe every day, tell us what you think of this new RP 342-XL in the comments below.
