The Milwaukee PIPELINE event has started, and they just announce the ALL NEW Milwaukee M18 FUEL Mid-Torque Impact Wrenches, aiming to find a happy middle in the garage.
THIS is the all new Milwaukee M18 FUEL Mid-Torque Impact Wrench, which comes with either a ⅜” or ½” anvil. With this tool, Milwaukee is aiming to cover 90% of all your High Torque Impact jobs in a given work day. And with 550 ft-lbs of fastening and 650 ft-lbs of nut-busting torque, I’d say they’ve done it.
These guys naturally fill the rather large gap between their new 250 ft-lb compacts and their far larger counterparts, while still coming in 3lbs lighter than other high torque impacts wrenches.
These new Mid-Torque Impacts offer more precision through a four-mode DRIVE CONTROL with a range of pre-set RPM and IPM levels, selectable from a single button. When you select Mode 4 while the tool is in forward, AUTO SHUT-OFF control applies no more than 35 ft-lbs of torque for hand-tight fastening applications to prevent overtightening. But when it’s in reverse, Mode 4 delivers Bolt Removal control, which delivers full torque output and then decreases RPMs once the bolt is loosened to keep you from dropping your fastener on the floor. Just like the new Compacts also announced today at PIPELINE.
A set of 3 LEDs make sure you can see even when you’re under an engine, with more light and fewer shadows. And of course with FUEL in the name that means you’ve got a Milwaukee POWERSTATE brushless motor, REDLITHIUM battery packs and REDLINK PLUS Intelligence providing maximum performance, and protecting the tool against overloads, overheating and over-discharge.
So of course, you want one, and you can have one in just a couple of months. Due to arrive in November 2020, you can get either size with or without Pin Detent.
