Milwaukee just announced two tools they say that detailers will hold in their hands for 6 to 8 hours a day. But don’t worry, the rest of you can still buy it, even if you only hold it for 6 to 8 hours a year. Let’s go!
This is the M18 FUEL 15MM Random Orbital Polisher, and this is the M18 FUEL 21mm Random Orbital Polisher, and Milwaukee says that these are the first true corded replacement, delivering more power and control than any other cordless polishers on the market. Each was designed with an ideal balance and grip to make this a true all day tool. They purposely designed them to reduce both noise and vibration, so you can hold the tool all day, decreasing user fatigue and increasing daily productivity.
Both versions have the power that professional detailers need for polishing and heavy-correction application. Because it says FUEL on the side, we already know that they include redlink plus, and in this case it means the motor and electronics can adjust to maintain speed and power under load. The backing plates stay cool so you don’t have to stop working, and they even went so far as it make sure the batteries were more than 2” from the work surface, so you don’t mess up that perfect paint job.
They both feature a variable speed trigger, and an 8 position speed dial and trigger lock button. The 15mm version delivers between 2,650 to 5,100 RPM and the M18 FUEL 21mm delivers 2,400 to 4,500 RPM.
When equipped with an M18 Redlithium High Output XC6.0 battery, you can expect up to 53 minutes of standard polishing time and up to 20 minutes on heavy correction applications. So if you’re doing this 8 hours a day, you’re gonna new a few batteries on rotation.
Both M18 FUEL Random Orbital Polishers will arrive in April, with the 15mm kit coming in at $529, and the 21mm kit at $559, each one including 2 XC6.0 batteries, rapid charger and bag.
