NEW Power Tools from Milwaukee, Harbor Freight, DeWALT and MORE!

This week’s episode of The Tool Show delivers a flood of exciting updates from powerhouse brands like Milwaukee, DeWALT, Harbor Freight, and more. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a weekend warrior, there’s something in here for you. Plus, Rob sits down with Kevin Barnett from Carbide 3D to talk CNCs—and how they’re quietly reshaping the trades.

New Tools from the Big Names

Let’s start with the latest launches. Milwaukee just dropped the M18 Fuel Half-Inch to One-Inch Steel Pipe Cutter, the first of its kind. Designed specifically for service plumbers and mechanical contractors, it slices through pipe up to four times faster than traditional methods thanks to linear blade actuation. It hits shelves in June at $399 bare. Replacement blades, rated for 200 cuts, go for $49.97.

At the same time, DeWALT has expanded its commercial mower lineup with two new gas-powered, self-propelled beasts: a 28-inch and a 21-inch. Both models, now available at Home Depot, use electronically governed engines to keep a consistent cut, even in thick terrain. DeWALT clearly built these for pro landscapers who need reliable power.

Harbor Freight, on the other hand, is turning heads with its redesigned Icon G2 Professional Ratchet Line. With a new ratchet head, better gasket seals, and added size options, this line looks like a serious upgrade. While they originally teased this release for November, it’s already rolling out online, with early access starting April 11.

Meanwhile, Ryobi launched the 18V One+ Dual Function Lighted Creeper Seat, a game-changing shop tool. You can use it as a creeper or flip it into a seat. It features 800-lumen LEDs, built-in tool storage, a 400-lb weight limit—and even a snack slot. It’s clever, practical, and costs $159.

Reviews and Real-World Testing from the Tool Community

As always, the tool community is putting new gear to the test.

Project Farm ran a deep dive into air compressors and uncovered one of the quietest and fastest performers yet. Similarly, Project Pine Hills explored Klein Tools’ KNECT Quad 24 Flip Sockets, which pack 24 sizes into just six sockets.

Tinker With Tools went head-to-head with compact impact drivers from Ryobi, Ridgid, and Milwaukee, giving us real insights into how they stack up. Meanwhile, Mark Thomas Builder tested Milwaukee’s new M12 Packout Job Site Speaker and shared whether it can keep up with premium audio gear on the job.

Shop Tool Reviews spotlighted premium jacks from Martins Industries, and 731 Woodworks introduced a surprisingly solid budget track saw from Vevor. Over on Tools That Build, a smart AA battery cost-per-minute breakdown helped show which batteries actually stretch your dollar.

Spotlight: Carbide 3D and CNCs in the Trades

One of the biggest highlights from this week’s show comes from Rob’s sit-down with Kevin Barnett of Carbide 3D. Together, they broke down how CNCs (Computer Numeric Control routers) are changing the game in woodworking, signage, and general trades work.

Kevin made the case that CNCs are no longer just for hobbyists. Tradespeople use them every day to create custom jigs, replicate intricate trim, or solve one-off problems right on the job site. With a CNC in your shop, you unlock new levels of flexibility, precision, and speed.

He recommends starting with Carbide Create, the company’s free design software, to explore the basics. His advice for buyers? “Get the biggest machine your space allows.” The full interview is in this week’s episode, and Tool Show Patreon members can catch an extended cut this weekend.
