NEW Power Tools from Milwaukee, DeWALT, Makita, Bosch, Hilti and more! It’s World of Concrete Day 2!
World of Concrete 2024 has been a playground for construction professionals and tool enthusiasts alike, showcasing the latest innovations in heavy-duty machinery and power tools. Day 2 brought even more exciting releases, featuring top brands like Milwaukee, DeWALT, Makita, Bosch, Hilti, and others. From dust extractors to new framing nailers, the variety and technological advancements were impressive. Let’s dive into some of the standout tools unveiled today!
1. Milwaukee’s M18 Fuel Packout Dual Battery Dust Extractor
Milwaukee kicked off Day 2 with a major upgrade to their M18 fuel lineup. The M18 Fuel Packout Dual Battery Dust Extractor is designed for maximum suction, even when the filter starts to clog. With dual automatic filter cleaning, it ensures sustained performance throughout the day, keeping your workspace free of dust. Additionally, the vac features HEPA filters that pulse air to keep suction high, and the VacLink Wireless Dust Control feature allows the extractor to start automatically when you activate compatible tools, saving time and increasing productivity. This tool will be available in Q4 of 2024!
2. DeWALT’s Pneumatic vs. Battery-Powered Framing Nailers
Next up was DeWALT, unveiling their brand new 21°(DW-DCN920B) and 30° (DW-DCN930B) framing nailers. These new tools are designed to compete not with other battery-powered nailers, but with pneumatic models, aiming to eliminate the hassle of hoses. The nailers feature an extended magazine to hold full two clips, speeding up the process and improving efficiency. Plus, the ramped nail feeding system ensures quicker firing and better seating of nails. Expect these to hit the shelves by May 2024.
3. Bosch’s Powerful Impact Wrenches
Bosch showed off their new range of impact wrenches, starting with a light-duty 2-in-1 model that supports both square and hex bits. Their 330-ft-lb impact wrench (GDS18V-330PCN) and 740 ft-lb version (GDS18V-740N) promise powerful torque for tough jobs, while the 770-ft-lb model (GDS18V-770N) brings 1,180 ft-lb of breakaway torque to handle the heaviest tasks. Bosch also introduced their 3/4 in Drive Impact Wrench with a whopping 1,500 ft-lb of breakaway torque, making it a serious contender for tough industrial applications.
4. Makita’s New Framing Nail Gun
Makita made a splash with their new LXT 18V 21° framing nail gun, which promises to be a game-changer for professionals. This lightweight tool fires up to 1,200 nails per charge with its 5Ah battery, all without any ramp-up time, allowing users to keep pace with demanding jobs. The tool also includes a depth adjustment feature, making it versatile for various applications. Available in fall 2024, this gun will be a must-have for those looking for efficiency and speed on job sites.
5. Hilti’s Sustainable Tool Lifecycle
While the excitement was high around all the new gear, Hilti stood out for its commitment to sustainability. They shared their process of refurbishing old tools and donating them to charities like Habitat for Humanity, ensuring that tools get a second life instead of being sent to landfills. Last year, Hilti recycled over a million pounds of tools and batteries, a fantastic example of how companies are thinking about both ROI and environmental impact in the tool industry.
6. DeWALT’s New Wireless Backpack Vibrator
For those working with concrete, DeWALT introduced a backpack vibrator (DW-DCPS310AG2) that runs for 60 minutes on a single charge, making it 30% longer than traditional gas-powered models. The addition of wireless tool control also makes this tool stand out. Now, workers can turn off the tool remotely while at the top of a column, preventing messy mishaps during use. This innovation is a great example of how DeWALT is pushing boundaries in the concrete construction space.
7. Blaklader’s Focus on Durable Workwear
Finally, while not exactly a tool, Blaklader caught our attention with their tough and durable workwear designed for the toughest environments. Their gear is made to withstand the rigors of construction and concrete work while offering comfort and functionality. It’s a reminder that the right attire can make a huge difference when working with heavy tools and machinery.
