The Milwaukee 9.0 batteries have been a hot topic of discussion among fans of their M18 lineup this summer, and it’s safe to say that they have an official release date.
The Milwaukee 9.0 Ah batteries (48-11-1890) with 162 Wh are scheduled to ship on September 1st and will be available for $199 alone or $$249 as a starter pack (48-59-1890) that includes the new Rapid Charger. These are probably the most highly sought after batteries in this release. The $199 price point is a little steep, but I expect them to be available as kits with some of their newer, higher powered tools (like the miter saw) which would make it much easier to add the high demand batteries to your arsenal. With double the gas tank the charge time is of course also greater which is why you’ll want to get that rapid charger for a 95 minute charge time, 180 minutes on a standard M18 charger.

The Milwaukee M12 line will have two new batteries. A 3.0 compact (48-11-2430) that will go for $59, almost eliminating the need for their 2.0 M12 batteries at that price point. They will also have a 6.0 XC M12 battery (48-11-2460) at $89 for those that weren’t getting a long enough runtime out of the 4.0 XC. Both of these batteries will also begin to ship around September 1st.

There will also be a 6.0 Ah M18 XC (108Wh) battery in mid-September. The 48-11-1860 will not be as big as it’s 9.0 ah counterpart and will retail at $149.

For the month of August, while all these products are on pre-order, you can get them with free shipping from Ohio Power Tool.
