While at the Milwaukee Tool NPS 2018, Milwaukee presented their new Milwaukee Torch Carbide Sawzall Blades and went head-to-head with the Freud Diablo Carbide Blade. Up until now the Diablos have been way out in front with carbide recip blade technology when it comes to cutting metal. Clearly, this Milwaukee demo provided by Milwaukee themselves, so it may certainly have some bias in the demonstration.

This doesn’t mean the new Torch blade isn’t a great product. We’ve had a chance to try these blades out ourselves, see a previous post, Safe Cracking with Milwaukee Carbide Torch & Carbide HoleDozer. Of course we have also been huge fans of the Diablo Carbide Blades having used them in dozens of other videos over the past couple years. Twice as fast seems like a stretch, possibly for this application its accurate, we will be working on some more comprehensive testing in various materials. One thing we can say without question if you have not added someone’s Carbide Sawzall blades to your arsenal yet you are missing out!

The Torch Carbide Sawzall Blades and Diablo Carbide are available now, along with dozens of Reciprocating Saw Blade options listed at Ohio Power Tool.
