It’s been almost 2 years since Milwaukee first showed us the MX FUEL platform, and while it may have got off to a rocky start, today they announced the first major new addition, and you wear it on your back! Let’s go!
THIS is the all new Milwaukee MX FUEL Backpack Concrete Vibrator. This is the very first modular concrete vibrator of it’s kind. These things are absolutely critical to the process of pouring wet concrete, and to one up their competitors, they claim this new MX FUEL version will deliver consistent starts and the most reliable pours. It features the power to push up to 2 – ½” heads, allowing users to use the full range of concrete vibrator accessories. It tops out at 11,200 VPM, and weighs only 34lbs with your battery, which is comparable to competitive backpack models.
Concrete Consolidation is the process of removing air pockets from the concrete. That’s what this thing is for. And they say it can consolidate up to 70 cubic yards per charge with a 1 ½” head and 7’ shaft. That’s 7,500 sq ft with the two MX FUEL REDLITHIUM XC406 batteries it comes with. That’s like 2 tennis courts, 8in deep.
And of course, there are the obvious advantages over gas, including no pull-start, no engine maintenance, no emissions, and well, no gas! Plus they say it’s up to 50% quieter and the thing vibrates on concrete, not in your hands.
At launch, Milwaukee will offer two different vibrator shafts, a 7ft and a 14ft, and two different vibrator heads, including a 1 ½” and a 2”.
So let’s talk pricing and availability. Milwaukee says these will start shipping in June, with the Kit starting at $2,799. The 7ft vibrator shaft will be $229, the 14ft version will be $349. The 1.5” concrete vibrator head will be $279, and the 2” will be $369. There is also a replacement backpack harness for $299, a remote for $49, and an adapter for $29.
