Skilsaw, the inventors of the Worm Drive Saw that “Built America”, has just unveiled their first cordless version, running on an all-new 48V battery platform!
Featuring the same design, control layout and balance as the corded version, this new entry was designed from the start to feel familiar. The obvious difference being the 48V 5Ah 240Wh battery hanging off the back end just under the rear handle.
The housing, guards, and base are all Magnesium, just like it’s corded brothers, making this rigid but light at 11lbs bare. The brushless motor tops out at 5,800 RPM, living up to the expectations of the Skilsaw faithful.
Of course, you can’t go cordless without a battery platform, so Skilsaw built the new TRUEHVL battery system, starting with a 5Ah 240Wh battery that clocks in at 4.25lbs on it’s own. They claim a new innovative design arranges the cells in a unique configuration that evenly distributes heat which in turn extends run time. They tell us we can expect over 400 cuts on a single charge.
The rapid charger included in the bundle we recieved can charge an empty battery to full in only 1 hour.
If you’ve been waiting for the original 77 to go cordless, you can pre-order yours on 10/11/19 and it should hit stores on 11/10/19. The MSRP for the saw, one battery and charger is $399. For availability, we suggest you contact Ohio Power Tool!
