It’s been a big week in the world of power tools, with a flood of new announcements from Milwaukee, DeWALT, SKIL, Wright, and other top brands. Whether you’re a DIY enthusiast, jobsite pro, or tool collector, there’s something in this roundup to spark your interest. From next-gen cordless blowers to electrofusion processors (yes, that’s a thing), here’s everything you missed in the latest Tool Show episode.
Wright Tools: Nut Drivers Done Right
Wright Tools is showing some love to our mitten-clad hands with a brand-new line of cushion grip nut drivers. These beauties come in 19 SAE and metric sizes with ASME color-coded caps for quick grabs. Made from U.S. forged alloy steel and featuring hollow shafts for added torque, they’re built to reduce hand fatigue. Expect prices to start around $75 and go up to $148 depending on the kit size.
DeWALT: Ditch the Tape – Go Laser
DeWALT is going digital with two 200-foot laser distance measurers: the DWHT78200 (lithium-ion, Bluetooth) and DWHT77200 (alkaline). Both promise pinpoint accuracy and on-the-spot calculations. The rechargeable version will ship in June for about $169; the alkaline model drops in September.
DeWALT Hedge Trimmer & Backpack Blower
Two more cordless beasts enter DeWALT’s 20V and 60V Max lineup:
- 22” Brushless Hedge Trimmer – Lighter and more compact with friction clutch protection.
Bare (DW-DCHT821B) Full kit (DW-DCHT821P1). - 60V Max Backpack Blower – 850 CFM, 170 MPH, and turbo/eco modes. Kit priced around $799.
SKIL: Flip Your Drill Game
SKIL is flipping expectations with the DL6300D MultiVolt Flip Drill. A twist of its double collet head lets you switch between pilot and driver bits instantly. Choose between PowerCore 12V ($79 kit) or 20V ($99 kit), both packed with clever features like USB-C charging and an LED work light.
Milwaukee MX: Electrofusion, Simplified
Milwaukee surprised everyone by dropping an MX Fuel Electrofusion Processor, designed for welding polyethylene pipe. It’s 40% lighter than competitors, needs no generator, and includes a cordless barcode scanner and customizable settings. Pricing TBD, but it ships in August.
