Makita’s New 40V XGT 7-1/4″ Circular Saw
First up, Makita’s been expanding their XGT lineup, and this week they’ve dropped a new cordless rear-handle 7-1/4″ circular saw that runs on their 40V XGT platform. If you’re thinking, doesn’t Makita already have a ton of circular saws? You’re not wrong, but this one stands out. With a cutting capacity of 2-9/16″, you can tackle 3x material in a single pass. Get your hands on this beast for just $299 in a kit that includes a 4Ah battery, charger, and bag. A perfect addition for those looking for a more powerful, cordless saw.
Bosch’s New Tools for 2025
Bosch has been rolling out new tools over the past few months, and this week’s no different. They’ve introduced the GCU 18V 30 18V brushless cutout tool. It’s compact, ergonomic, and delivers impressive runtime—up to 300 linear feet on a single charge when paired with a Bosch CORE 18V 4Ah battery. Plus, they’ve unveiled the GTB 18V 45, a brushless drywall screw gun, designed to help you get through drywall projects with comfort and speed.
Bosch has also announced the GKM18V 20, an 18V metal circular saw with a built-in chip collector. This small but mighty saw packs a punch with a 5-3/8” blade and ergonomic design, all while keeping the metal shavings under control as you cut.
