Guys… I just got a call from Milwaukee. They told us that after listening to their customers, and specifically YOU guys, in the comments of our Inverter video, they’ve decided to REMOVE the 80V 1hour shutoff feature from the MX Carry-ON. Seriously! No longer will it shut off after an hour if you’re pulling less than 80V. So how will they fix it? That’s the thing…

For now, Milwaukee has STOPPED shipping the MX Carry ON to retailers. They’re applying the fix on all new ones first, and they should start shipping again in April.

But what if you’re like us, and you already have the MX Carry On? Well, Milwaukee has committed to offering a solution to get that fixed, but they don’t yet know how that will work. We asked about a fix over ONE-KEY, but that doesn’t sound likely.

Instead, if you want the feature removed, you will likely need to send your Carry On in to Milwaukee, or hopefully, just need to bring it into a local service center.

When they finally land on a solution, we’ll let you know immediately right here on Belts and Boxes.

You did it guys. You made yourselves heard, and Milwaukee made a presumably expensive choice to give you want you wanted. It’s amazing what you can do when you’re allowed to speak, and a quality company pauses to listen. I’ll see you guys this Friday for the Power Tool Week In Review!
