One of the biggest attractions at the World of Concrete each year is arguably the Rock Star girls at the Makita booth. All day long folks are lined up to get their pictures taken with the girls and we certainly couldn’t blame them. Of course Makita Tools also had some nice products to keep their interest once they get them into the booth. This year the newest tool folks got to test out was their Cordless Circular Saw XSH01Z ($219) which is a 7-1/4” 36V that runs off 2x 18V LXT batteries. To showcase this new saw they stacked 5 sheets of chip board and the saw barreled right through no problem cut after cut.
The new saw will be available within a few months and we will be doing some follow up testing on performance and battery life here shortly. From this brief demonstration however the feeling was that this saw absolutely did have the power of a standard 15 amp circular saw and with the larger 7-1/4” blade we could see this being the saw of choice for many on the jobsite. It was also the Rock Star girls’ tool of choice of the 2014 World of Concrete so how can you go wrong with that. And now for some additional product shots we hope you’ll find help you overall understanding of this innovative new tool…
