Available in the UK already this new Bosch 12V reciprocating saw will be available in the states any day now. Here it will be called the PS60-2A and cost around $159 for the kit with 2 batteries and charger. If you were thinking it looks very similar to the Milwaukee Hacksaw you would be correct. Bosch was pretty cleaver and shortened it slightly and made the stroke slightly more aggressive which means the Bosch is now the smallest and fastest 12V recip saw on the market. Having used both they are really very very similar and man, the boys at Milwaukee must be steaming.

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, was the first thing we thought when we got a look at it. The Milwaukee Hacksaw is very well engineered and perfect size saw for a 12V tool. Since all the full size recip saws look almost identical anyway might as well be the same way with the 12V cordless tools. The Bosch 12V line has needed a real saw for some time now. The PS50-2B ($179, Ohio Power Tool) oscillating tool works good for cutting in certain situations but is not the same as a recip saw. This should be a pretty easy purchase for all the millions of users who already own some of the Bosch 12V cordless tools. Thanks to the guys at ToolStop UK for sharing the video!
